Dr. Chiara Montaldo

Infectious Diseases Specialist, National Institute for Infectious Diseases (INMI) Spallanzani, Rome, Italy

Research interests: Emerging diseases, Epidemics, Global Health

Dr. Montaldo, graduated in Medicine and Surgery Italy, in 1999, obtained the Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Prince Leopold, in Belgium in 2001 and the Specialization in Tropical Medicine at the Genoa University, in 2004.

Since 2005 until 2019, she worked with Médecins sans Frontiers (MSF), in the fields of: i) HIV/AIDS and TB in China, India, Ukraine and Italy; ii) Chagas Diseases in Latin-Americans communities in Italy; iii) migrants’ and refugees’ health in Italy, Greece, Serbia, Lebanon; iV) hemorrhagic fevers in Guinea Conakry, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Beside MSF, she has worked in Italian hospitals as infectious diseases doctor. Currently, she works at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Spallanzani in Rome, Italy.
