Prof. Dr. Kuldip Singh Sangwan is the chair of the Mechanical Engineering department at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani), India. He is the recipient of prestigious Shri B. K. Birla and Shrimati Sarala Birla Chair Professorship. He is an active researcher in the field of sustainable manufacturing, green supply chain management, digi-tal manufacturing, and application of artificial intelligence in system design.

Prof Sangwan has 12 completed and 8 ongoing PhDs, three books, as editor and more than 160 research papers as peer-reviewed journal articles to his credit. He has conducted collaborative projects worth more than €1 million funded by international (DAAD, UNEP), industrial and Indian government agencies. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and a life member of the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) and the Society of Operations Management.

Within the coalition, Prof. Kuldip Singh Sangwan contributes to the area of application of AI and machine learning algorithms for informed and rapid decision making under complex parameters.
